Delete your Eduksha account

You can permanently delete your account and your child's data at any time. Here's how, and exactly what happens after.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

1. Open Eduksha on the parent's phone.
2. Go to Profile (or the parent dashboard, depending on your role).
3. Tap Settings → Delete account.
4. Re-verify your phone number with a one-time password.
5. Confirm. Deletion is queued immediately.

If you don't see the Delete-account option in your build of the app, you're on an older version — please use Option 2 below until you can update.

Option 2 — Email request

Send an email from the phone-linked email address (or include the registered phone number for verification) to:

We confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your parent profile (phone number, display name, FCM token).
• Every child profile linked to your account (name, class, gender, PIN, friends list).
• All uploaded photos in Cloud Storage (homework, self-learning, tuition).
• All quiz attempts, written-answer results, parent-task records, streak counters.
• All friend connections referencing your child profiles (the friends-of-friends will see the connection silently disappear).

What is retained briefly, and why

• Backup snapshots — Google Cloud retains backup copies for up to 90 days. They are not accessible to us during normal operation and are purged automatically.
• Aggregate counters — anonymous counters such as “number of quizzes generated” may persist; these contain no PII and cannot be linked back to your account.
• Compliance logs — security-event logs may persist up to 12 months as required by Indian law.

What is not deleted

• Content you may have shared outside Eduksha (e.g. a streak screenshot you texted to a friend).
• Records that we are legally required to keep — for example, tax records if you ever made a payment.

Reverting after deletion

Deletion is permanent. Once a deletion request is processed, we cannot recover the account, the child profiles, or any uploaded content. If you change your mind during the 2-day grace period, email privacy@eduksha.in from the registered phone's email and we will pause the request.
